With a First Class Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, I am highly knowledgeable in the field of Contemporary Art. From photography and sculpture to curation and printmaking, I can help you learn new techniques and develop existing skills, whilst encouraging you to explore art practice from a variety of alternative perspectives.
Previous teaching experience includes facilitating a variety of arts workshops to adult learners, as well as working as a Supply Teaching Assistant within SEN and mainstream schools ranging from Nursery to Key Stage 2. I am keen to gain further teaching experience in advance of starting my Master of Arts degree next Autumn, after which I hope to progress onto a PGCE for Further Education.
I approach teaching from a relatively relaxed perspective, listening to students' interests and needs from the outset in order to tailor the content of lessons to enhance and develop their skills. I find it extremely important to approach art education from a broad-ranging perspective, as no two artists are the same and so shouldn't be expected to practice from one point of view. I believe it is important for art practice to be fluid, so that concepts and ideas can be realised naturally, therefore utilising a range of mediums and methods.
My extensive knowledge of contemporary artists and processes will ensure that you are continuously learning new things about yourself as a maker and the art world, both past and present.
I can't wait to start working with you!
