site-specific research for 'unearthed encounters'
(2021)

“trace can be defined as material evidence that allows us to recall an object or an event; it can also be a journey of discovery. in either case, trace connects us to the world through recognition & memory.” - anthony bond (1999)

casts taken from the walls, crevices & surfaces within an abandoned cottage in cornwall, made from dental plaster (known for its incredible ability to retain surface details). this process was driven by an inquiry into indexical trace in relation to the memory of place & formed a significant part of my primary research for ‘unearthed encounters’.
