lucie smith's practice is rooted in personal and collective storytelling, with a focus on traces and the overlooked.
by drawing upon archival material and artefact collections, she explores the paradoxes of memory and empathy to create intricate sculptures and immersive, cross-disciplinary installations. she also creates photographs, stitch and paper-based works, paintings and poetic films.
smith trained at arts university plymouth, gaining a first class ba in fine art. she has exhibited and collaborated on projects across england and internationally, and is currently based in hampshire, uk.
